Guests Can Now Add Special Requests During Booking

We’re excited to announce a new feature on the Booking Engine: a field to capture guests’ special requests is now available on the guest page.

This field allows guests to provide additional information or preferences during the booking process, helping properties offer a more personalised experience.

What’s new?

  • 📝 Special requests field now visible on the guest page
  • ⚙️ The field label is fully customisable via RMS 'Labels' and configured in Field Maintenance
  • 👀 Guests can submit requests directly during booking, no extra steps required

Why it matters

  • Enables properties to better understand guest needs before arrival
  • Enhances the guest experience through personalised service
  • Gives properties flexibility to configure the field to suit their requirements

This enhancement ensures guests can communicate preferences easily while keeping configuration simple and flexible for properties.

We're pleased to announce the latest features and enhancements now available in RMS. These updates are designed to improve your RMS experience and help you make the most of your subscription.

🌱  New and Improved Features

Along with 100s of little background tweaks and tinkerings to smooth out your RMS experience, we've added some handy new and improved features you'll love.

1. Improve your guest experience with enterprise RMS Pay tokens
Properties using RMS Pay in the same region now have the ability to share guest card tokens, streamlining their experience and improving connectivity across your enterprise.

2. Housekeeping made simpler with company-level tasks and ad hoc assignments
Housekeeping just got easier! To improve flexibility and control, tasks can now be assigned at the company level. Furthermore, ad hoc tasks can also be added independently of a guest's booking, and assigned as shared responsibilities between housekeeping staff.

3. Cut digital keys and generate access pins with Salto KS
Love our integration with Salto KS smart locks? You'll love this enhancement, enabling properties to cut digital keys and access pins for guests about to arrive or already arrived and ready to check-into their room.

Fixed: Booking Error for Rooms with Max Occupancy Set to 0

We’ve resolved a critical issue where adding a room with its category set to a maximum occupancy of 0 was causing an error and preventing guests from completing their booking.

What’s changed?

  • ✅ Rooms with max occupancy = 0 can now be added without triggering an error
  • 🛠️ Guests can complete bookings as expected
  • 👀 No further action is required - the fix is live

Update Guest Numbers Directly in Your Cart!

We’re excited to announce a new feature on the Booking Engine: guest counters now appear in the cart after adding a room.

Previously, guests had to remove a room, update the number of guests, and then re-add the room. With this update, guests can now update the number of guests directly within the cart, making the booking process smoother and faster.

What’s new?

  • 👥 Guest counters are displayed for each room in the cart
  • 🔄 Guests can update numbers without removing and re-adding rooms
  • 🚫 Guest numbers cannot exceed the maximum allowed for the room category

Why it matters

  • Streamlines the booking experience for guests
  • Reduces friction during checkout
  • Ensures bookings remain valid according to room capacity

This enhancement improves flexibility and clarity, helping guests book with confidence and ease.

We’ve resolved an issue where incorrect payment types were appearing on receipts when posted to the RMS.

Security Update: Improved Password Handling for Travel Agents, Companies, Housekeepers & Owner Records

As part of our ongoing commitment to data security, we've updated the way passwords are stored and managed for Travel Agents/Wholesalers, Companies, Housekeepers and Owner Records within RMS.

What’s New:

  • Passwords for these entities will now be hidden in the UI once saved, enhancing protection against unauthorized access.
  • A key icon has been introduced, allowing users to reset passwords when needed, rather than viewing or editing existing ones directly.

This update aligns with best practices in credential security and ensures sensitive information remains protected.

No changes are required to existing passwords, but any future updates will need to be made using the new reset process.

See All Room Options — Even Unavailable Ones!

We’re excited to announce a new feature on the Booking Engine: unavailable rooms are now displayed under an “Unavailable” heading below available rooms for a searched date.

Previously, this was a configurable option controlled via Online Options in the existing Booking Engine. Now, all guests can clearly see what’s unavailable, giving them a complete view of room options without confusion.

What’s new?

  • 🏨 Unavailable rooms are displayed under an “Unavailable” heading for the searched date
  • 👀 Guests can now see all room options clearly, even if they’re fully booked
  • ⚙️ No configuration needed 0 this is the default experience on the new Booking Engine

Why it matters

  • Helps guests understand availability at a glance
  • Reduces confusion during the booking process
  • Improves transparency and the overall user experience

This enhancement makes browsing rooms simpler, faster, and more intuitive - no more guessing what’s available or hidden.
